Patching policy

Organised by: hdz

Debating a positive cyber security programme.

The government usually arrives on the technology scene long after the ship has sailed and the damage has been done.

Regulation tries to fit technology developments into legal frameworks. This is also the case for the investigative powers of law enforcement. The proposed use of these powers is often based on fear while the alleged effectiveness of these powers is based on cherry picking 'facts' from government- or industry funded research. The current cyber security agenda is therefore mostly based on FUD.

Bits of Freedom wants to turn the tide. So let us (de)face the current policies and build a positive and fact-based cyber security programme.
